**Job Summary**:
This position is an entry-level in the kitchen, responsible for assisting in the preparation of ingredients and basic cooking tasks. The role is aimed at those eager to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, learning new skills while contributing to daily food production.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the preparation of ingredients including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and marinating meats as directed by the senior chefs.
- Follow recipes and instructions for cooking various dishes under supervision.
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the required standard and in a timely manner.
- Support the Chef de Partie in cooking and preparing menu items as required.
- Assist with the plating of dishes, ensuring presentation is in line with restaurant standards.
- Prepare basic dishes under supervision, such as soups, salads, and simple mains.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including the washing of utensils and equipment.
- Follow food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene at all times.
- Ensure that all food items are stored properly, and the kitchen area is clean and organized.
- Assist with the receiving and storing of deliveries, ensuring that all products are stored correctly and in line with food safety regulations.
- Report any shortages or inconsistencies in inventory to senior chefs.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Diploma or certificate in culinary arts or relevant field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Previous experience in a kitchen is advantageous but not required.
- Basic knife skills, ability to follow recipes and instructions, keen attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and a team-oriented mindset.
