Inventory Assistant

**About the role**

As Inventory Assistant, you will be responsible for physically counting the stocks and making system entries; supporting the Inventory Supervisor to ensure smooth operations of the inventory team.

**Key accountabilities include**:
- Physically count stock at various locations in Retail as assigned by the Inventory Supervisor.- Export the data gathered during physical count and reconcile system inventory versus physical count and report variances to the Inventory Supervisor.- Accountable for AX-MIN/MAX system to verify and input system entries to ensure accuracy of data.- Maintain high levels of concentration, diligence and patience, as this role involves continuous counting for the entire shift, until counting for a category is complete, which sometimes could take upto 12 hours.- Ensure all processes and procedures pertaining to inventory count are thoroughly followed, and stock counting activity does not impact customer service and shopfloor operations.- Ensure all physical counts are accurate, all stocks are individually checked with reference to PLU (Product Lookup) number.- Responsible to ensure all devices, for example, HHD (Hand Held Device) are configured prior to the count.- Prepare thoroughly prior to the stock count with respect to accurate posted transfer orders, products with correct PLUs, organise the stocks for easy counting, etc.- Responsible to organise prior to the count, for all areas of a particular store, including drawers, sub-stores in the shop and sub-store in the basement.- Maintain a discrepancy tracker with physical and system stock, and variance data, and compare and analyse the variance and if there are any high variances then the stock to be re-counted to identify if errors are genuine or report to the Inventory Supervisor immediately.- Prepare and send consolidated reports after each location count, category-wise to the Inventory Supervisor.- Monitor records and follow-up with respective Store Managers to ensure stocks are fully accounted for.- Responsible to be extra vigilant while conducting count for Fashion and Jewellery items, need to be counted with reference to item specifications and ensure the price tags match the actual stock.- Follow correct handling techniques at all times to ensure products are not damaged during the count, especially, for high value items under Fashion and Jewellery categories, which consists of approximately 150,000 products; there will be further additions as the business expands.- Ensure understanding and updated knowledge of all the products sold in QDF to make sure counts are thorough with respect to numerous variations within the categories and sub-categories.

**Qualifications**:
**About you**- Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification- Minimum 3 years of work experience- Experience in Duty Free as a Sales Assistant

Job Specific Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office, with focus on Excel - tabulate stock data and reporting, is required- Highly motivated individual with good interpersonal skills.- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.- Detail oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills.- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
