**Job Title**: Commis 2

**Job Purpose**:
To assist in the preparation and cooking of food to the highest standard, ensuring food safety and hygiene protocols are maintained, while developing culinary skills in a structured kitchen environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Food Preparation**: Assist in the preparation and cooking of various ingredients and dishes according to recipes and instructions from senior chefs (e.g., Commis 1, Chef de Partie).
- **Station Management**: Take responsibility for one section of the kitchen (e.g., hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, etc.), ensuring everything is in order and ready for service.
- **Assisting in Cooking**: Work with senior chefs to prepare dishes for the restaurant, ensuring they are prepared according to set standards.
- **Inventory Management**: Assist in managing stock, ensuring that ingredients are rotated properly, and report shortages to the supervisor.
- **Cleaning and Organizing**: Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen, follow health and safety regulations, and ensure proper food storage procedures.
- **Assisting in Mise en Place**: Help in setting up the station for service, making sure all necessary equipment, ingredients, and garnishes are in place.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during meal periods.
- **Adherence to Safety Standards**: Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling of food and equipment.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**: Formal culinary training or equivalent experience in a kitchen environment (ideally a diploma or certificate in culinary arts).
- **Experience**: Typically 1-2 years of kitchen experience in a similar role, such as a Commis 1 or Kitchen Assistant.
- **Skills**:

- Strong understanding of kitchen operations.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
- A good eye for detail, especially with food presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- **Personal Attributes**:

- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

**Working Conditions**:

- Full-time, typically working long hours in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Work may involve standing for long periods, handling hot equipment, and lifting heavy items.
- Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: QAR1,200.00 - QAR1,500.00 per month
