**Main **Duties and Responsibilities**

**About Ana Alaraby**:
Ana Alaraby is a leading digital channel from Alaraby Television Network. It is specialising in producing digital content that covers trending topics, pop culture, current affairs, awareness, educational, social topics and entertainment. The channel is distributing its content over social media platforms and Alaraby VOD service.
Ana Alaraby aims to open up horizons for the Arab viewer to express himself, empower his voice, and document his memory. Ana Alaraby is using different formats such as social videos, short animation, documentaries, shows and presenter-led videos.
**The role**:
We are looking for an experienced senior digital producer, who have a very strong managerial and editorial skills. He/she will be responsible for leading a team of producers and video editors to produce outstanding, digital friendly and sharp content (social videos, raw videos, contextual videos and cards) that covers current affairs and news on its wide spectrum (politics, sport, entertainment, art, etc..). His/her main responsibility will be leading both input and output on a daily basis according to the rota.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the execution of the approved daily coverage, production and publishing strategy.
- Lead Ana Alaraby daily input and output operations on all aspects and hold editorial accountability for every produced piece of content.
- Supervise newsgathering process, manage the morning editorial meeting, spot production worthy stories, define the editorial angle and assign stories to the producers.
- Give editorial directions to the team, review and approve all aspects of the production (scripts, images, videos, tittles, captions, metadata, thumbnails, etc...)
- Jump in the middle of covering, get hand dirty in producing stories when needed especially during breaking news.
- Oversee workflow, rota, guidelines, newsgathering system and the publishing schedule.
- Make sure the daily content is packaged to the high-end standards for each platform (thumbnails, tags, annotations, cards, description, tittles, caption, metadata, rights)
- Maintain and contribute to the updated calendar of events and coverage, and planning the production according to the calendar.
- Work on a rota shift-based system, which includes weekends.

**Essential skills required**:

- Excellent attention to details and take initiatives, organised and work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent skills in creative writing in Arabic, with a language that is appropriate and relevant to the style of Alaraby TV, with no spelling/grammatical errors and exertional ability to check and review facts, images and scripts.
- Ability to visualise data, dig deep to hunt appropriate video/image that reflects the script accurately.
- Excellent research skills especially in English and ability to identify in-accurate, misleading and fake sources of information.
- Familiar with fundamentals editorial, creative and technical aspects of social video production.
- Sound editorial judgement and familiar with Alaraby editorial tone.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle production workflow with different stakeholders.
- Hands-on Adobe Photoshop and Premiere.
- Have a strong understanding of evolving audience requirements and preferences for digital content.
- Ability to follow up with multiple projects at a time.
- Work effectively within tight deadlines whilst meeting timelines
- Monitors traditional and non-traditional international news sources and has good knowledge of the top editorial files in the MENA region
- Passionate with infographics and storytelling.
- News junkie on its wide spectrum (politics, sport, culture, art, economics)
- Wide awareness of digital content channels that are targeting Millennials and Generation Z in MENA and the globe in general.
- Experience with newsgathering tools such (as Dataminr, TweetDeck, Crowdtangle, etc...) along with traditional newswires
- Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube community standards and copyright policies.

**Qualification & Experience**:

- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in working in journalism, with 3 years of experience in the digital environment.
- Experience in managing teams and news shifts, solving problems, work under the stress of breaking news and fast headline flow.
