**Job Title** : Structural Engineer

**Job Purpose**:
Under the direct supervision of the Design Supervisor, this job is generally responsible for Designs and Estimates of steel buildings.

**Person Specifications**:

- University degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 5 years experience in steel design and two to three years previous experience in PEB
- A good knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to guide draftsmen
- A sufficient knowledge of PEB’s manufacturing practices
- The maturity and ability to effectively meet with customers and properly communicate PEB’s standard practices
- Ability to coordinate and handle big projects as a team leader
- Ability to guide, organize and supervise a team of Engineers
- Ability to take charge of Group Supervisor in his absence

**List of Responsibilities**_:_

1. Designs buildings and structures assigned to him using building codes, design standards, specifications and procedures adopted in PEB.

2. Prepares design and estimates for the high complexity buildings. Estimates are done in a timely manner as set by the Group’s Supervisor.

3. Guide draftsmen for preparing approval drawings for complex projects.

4. Works closely with the design checker and the Drafting/Detailing Checker to ensure his work is error-free.

5. Reviews, evaluates and interprets structural engineering requirements in light of standard parts usage and minimum in-place cost.

6. Recommends solutions for design problems to the Group Supervisor that will improve the design and drafting efficiency.

7. Responsible for the structural integrity of all of his designs.

8. Ensures that all designs maximize standard parts usage and are in accordance with good engineering practices.

9. Acts as a team leader for handling big projects and guide his team ensuring proper coordination and timely completion of project.

10. Take charge of the Group in the absence of Group Supervisor.

11. Shoulders any other assignment entrusted upon him by the Supervisor and Manager
