About the role

In this role as a Legal Specialist - Litigation, you would work on a wide variety of legal disputes and contentious matters including commercial, employment, and consumer litigation. You will also review, analyze, draft and negotiate commercial contracts in conjunction with the user and Sponsor departments to protect the interests of, and meet the business requirements of Qatar Airways Group.

Key Accountabilities:

- Provide proactive legal assistance and advice on contentious matters including commercial, employment, and consumer-related litigation.
- Provide timely advice to team and stakeholders in managing pre-litigation disputes with suppliers and third parties.
- Advice on liability and legal exposure to the company.
- Liaise with and manage external counsel as required in addressing disputes, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation and arbitration.
- Draft/review correspondence at the pre-litigation stage to ensure business interests are protected.
- Review, analyze, draft, interpret and negotiate commercial contracts to meet the business requirements of the company and monitor the risk, minimize exposure and ensure the company’s interests in the contract are protected.
- Assist and support other Qatar Airways Departments with contract interpretation and implementation.

About you
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
- Must be qualified as a lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Must have work experience in a law firm or dedicated legal environment.
- Strong knowledge in contract and commercial negotiation.
- Ability to function under pressure and work on various projects simultaneously.
- Ability to grasp new areas of law rapidly and accurately
