The Role
- The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the set-up, maintenance and safe and efficient operations of the lifting equipment. - He is responsible for coordinating and supervising all lifting activities in accordance with regulations and is required to be present during all lifting operations. - He is required to be systematic and mechanically inclined, in order to use and operate rigging/lifting equipment and execute operations. - He is also expected to work in rotating shifts and under time pressure. - He is also expected to work with internal stakeholders to accomplish his work. - Coordinating and supervising all lifting activities in accordance with the Lifting Plan. - Briefing all lifting team members on the Lifting Plan, risk control measure and safe lifting procedure before the commencement of any lifting operation. - Ensuring that only registered crane operators, appointed riggers and appointed signalmen to participate in any lifting operation involving the use of mobile and tower cranes. - Ensuring that the ground conditions are safe for any lifting operation to be performed by mobile cranes. - Be present during all lifting operations and if unsafe conditions are reported to him, to take suitable measures to rectify the conditions so that the lifting operation can be conducted safely. - Record keeping of Third Party Certificates of all the Lifting Equipment and lifting gears (i.e Cranes, Rigging Staff, Lifting Belts, Shackles etc.) and ensure timely renewal of TPCs well before the time of expiry and to proceed for necessary approvals from Client. - Check the competency, including training and qualifications of the sub-ordinates (i.e Riggers, Equipment Operators) involved in lifting operations. - Liaise with Site Engineer for preparation of lifting plan which includes site survey and assessment of the required lifting activity to finalize suitable lifting equipment (Crane capacity and lifting gears capacity etc.) - Ensure proper storage of Lifting Gears when they are not in use.
