Key Accountabilities:
Role Purpose: The Digital Asset Planning Specialist is responsible for the organization, maintenance, and distribution of the museum’s digital assets. This role focuses on the effective use of Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems, ensuring that assets are well-organized, accessible, and properly tagged. The Digital Asset Specialist will also support digital preservation, metadata management, and the implementation of workflows that optimize digital content usage across the museum’s departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Digital Asset Management: Assist in the organization, tagging, and maintenance of the museum’s digital assets, ensuring all materials are easily accessible and consistently categorized within the DAM system. Assist in the implementation and development of the QM DAM system for Lusail Museum.
- Metadata Management: Maintain accurate metadata and tagging practices to support searchability and proper categorization of digital assets, following industry standards.
- Asset Distribution: Support museum teams by facilitating the secure and timely distribution of digital assets to internal and external stakeholders.
- Workflow Support: Collaborate with the Digital Asset Manager to refine workflows, ensuring efficient and consistent processes for asset intake, cataloging, and archiving.
- System Maintenance: Assist with system updates, user management, and troubleshooting of the DAM platform to ensure its optimal performance.
- Digital Preservation: Help implement and monitor best practices for digital preservation, ensuring long-term accessibility and safeguarding of assets.
- Training and Support: Provide support and training to museum staff on the DAM system, promoting best practices in digital asset management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including Curatorial, Exhibitions, Marketing, and IT, to ensure digital assets meet the museum’s needs and are aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Experience working with Digital Asset Management systems.
- Strong knowledge of metadata standards and best practices in asset organization.
- Technical proficiency in digital preservation and digital file formats (e.g., images, videos, documents).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues within the DAM system.
- Excellent language skills in English/ Arabic is a plus
- Strategic thinking and planning.
- Attention to detail and high standards for quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office.
- Very strong understanding of studio imaging and photography production and best practices, particularly as applied to full colour publishing, large format printing, and scholarly or scientific study.
- Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Photography, Information Management, Museum Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar role with digital assets, multimedia, and media production, both technical and creative, particularly in studio photography, imaging, filmmaking, and interactivity
- Hands-on experience with Digital Asset Management systems (e.g., OpenText, Canto, Bynder, or similar).
- Experience managing large-scale digital archives or collections is a plus.
