Data Architect

**About Your Job**:
You will be responsible for designing data solutions that meets the business needs of the organisation. This includes translating business requirements into data products, creating data models, defining data architecture and ensuring data integrity, security, scalability and performance tailored to the specific needs of the initiative. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, product owners and data analysts to ensure that data products are aligned with business objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements.
- Leveraging strong business acumen, translate business requirements to create solution artefacts to build data products.
- Develop solution proposals that provide details of project scope, approach, deliverables and timeline.
- Design data models, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and performance.
- Ensure the scalability and performance of data solutions.
- Ensure the data security of the data products and the solution optimized is cost-efficient
- Select appropriate technologies and tools offered by organisations’ self-serve data platform for building the data products.
- Prepare key design decisions, and an ability to demonstrate structured consideration of multiple options (comparing competing technologies, functional design approaches etc).
- Guide the data engineers in solution development and ensure the solution is implemented

Qualifications

**Experience & Knowledge**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with minimum 8 years of experience Big Data, data warehouse, data analytics projects, with at least 3 years in solution architect role.
- Prior experience building large scale enterprise data architectures using commercial and/or open source Data Analytics technologies.
- Hands-on and in-depth experience of cloud solutions from a Data Architecture/Data Engineering perspective.
- Hands-on experience in developing and implementing large-scale data warehouses, Business Intelligence solutions, including Data Lakes/Data Hubs.
- Hands-on experience with productionising cloud data solutions with administration, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Ability to produce client ready solution architecture, business understandable presentations and good communication skills to lead and run workshops.
- Strong understanding of data quality principles and methodologies
- Data modelling and solutioning skills including strong foundation in data warehousing concepts, data normalisation, and dimensional data modelling such as Kimball, Inmon, data vault etc.
- Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka
- In depth understanding of Google Cloud Platform and it’s suite of data analytics services.
- Strong programming skills in languages like Python, SQL for building data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of data mesh architecture, agile and lean development methodologies and airline domain
- GCP certifications are a plus.
