The opportunity

Project: This is a conceptualised villages project in the heart and outskirts of Doha.

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking senior construction manager to join our established and growing team in Qatar.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting the project director in controlling and managing elements of the project to enable the project to be delivered to the agreed budget, time and quality standards required.
- Assisting in producing project reports for issues to clients on a weekly and monthly basis, as required, to report on project progress and performance.
- Supporting in the development of project strategic programmes and monitoring progress against.
- Helping on the overall on-site safety management including recording issues on the SHE online.
- Supporting all on-site quality control, coordination of benchmarks and liaison with the construction supervisors.
- Managing the site coordination including chairing the daily/weekly meetings with the contractor.
- Ensuring full understanding of all the contractors’ scopes.
- Reviewing the contractor method statements/risk assessments.
- Agreeing in short terms programmes with the contractor.
- Attending off-site inspections as directed by the project director.
- Agreeing in final quality inspections with the construction supervisors.
- Ensuring the contractor is maintaining the site in terms of cleanliness, logistics, mandatory signage and etc.
- Providing input information to the electronic document management system and to other project control systems.
- Supporting the commercial manager/quantity surveyor with project information.
- Ensuring all environmental conditions/requirements of the project HS&E plan are being adhered to by all contractors
- Managing the project functions and reporting to the project director on all commercial aspects of the project.
- Maintaining a daily detailed diary of activities ensuring all delays are recorded.
- Carrying out three times weekly SHE inspections of the site and log on to the SHE online system and YellowJacket.
- Complying with all Mace companies and project processes and procedures.
- Reporting any issues of non-compliance.
- Chairing meetings and preparing minutes of meetings as required.
- Performing other tasks as reasonably required from time to time.

About you

You will have a relevant degree qualification and be a member of a professional body. You have experience as a senior construction manager.

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have experience delivering projects from start through to completion within a consultancy industry and be poised to expand your own horizons, those of our clients and of our ambitious people alike. You have a construction or cost consultancy project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
