Mechanical Engineer

Hiring "**Mechanical Engineer**" to join on board immediately at Brick Stone Trading & Contracting **Qualifications**: - BSc Degree in **Mechanical Engineering** from a Recognized University. - Professional/Technical Knowledge in MEP, Mechanical Project Management and **Design**. **Job Purpose / Basic Function**: The main purpose of this position is to manage and be responsible for performing engineering duties in planning and designing tools, Firefighting systems, HVAC, and plumbing functioning networks and equipment’s. Oversee installation, operation, and testing and commissioning of such equipment as chilled water, air distributions ducts, DX units, Package units, firefighting networks and pumps, domestic water supply pumps, submersible pumps, hot water systems. **Duties and responsibilities**: - Ability to perform insulation - Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications. - Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards. - Use computer-assisted engineering software (AutoCAD) to perform engineering tasks. - Provide quality assurance for ongoing projects. - Achieve a detailed understanding of the contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, MEP Systems interrelationships, construction sequencing and project schedule. - Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between mechanical services and MEP services during engineering and construction. - Validate design issues related to MEP and suggest alternative solutions. - Prepare all mechanical submittals in coordination with other services. - Log and post all site changes and as-built information on field drawings in coordination with site team. - Assist in the scope review, budgeting and justification of MEP change work order. - Direct, monitor and control the activities of mechanical subcontractor. - Coordination and administration of mechanical related materials, systems and shop drawings submittals. - Liaison with Consultant mechanical supervisory Engineers, Inspectors and relevant staff. - Ensure that mechanical subcontractors provide and adheres to relevant quality documentation/records. - Ensure that mechanical subcontractors adhere to Project Safety Regulations. **Knowledge / Skills / Abilities**: - Must have a minimum of five to eight years of design experience and be capable of determination of HVAC loads, equipment selection, duct sizing and routing, interior plumbing plans, exterior plumbing plans, and fire protection systems. - Create schematic-level plans and details - Strong communication skills (verbal/written/listening/presentation) Strong communication skills (verbal/written/listening/presentation) - Must be proficient with AutoCAD, BIM ( AutoCAD, REVIT) is a plus - Building heating/cooling load calculation software such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP and Trane Trace - Must be skilled with Microsoft Project and Office Suite. - Problem solving skills with ability to analyze and recommend solutions on problems - Participate in process improvement and development of new technologies - Ensure adequate technical expertise is allocated to support projects - Strong technical writing skills including standards documentation and record keeping - Competent project management skills.
