Additionally, we develop large-scale adventure and sustainability events, such as The Extreme Hangout, and work towards creating a positive impact on people and the planet through our projects. **About the Role**: As a Freelance Consultant, you will be the driving force behind the successful planning and execution of sports events. Your expertise will ensure every detail is meticulously managed, providing an unforgettable experience for participants, sponsors, and spectators. The core objective is to deliver a successful and cost-effective event, adhering strictly to budget and time constraints. While the role starts remotely, it will transition to a hybrid model and eventually require full-time on-the-ground presence as the event approaches. **Responsibilities**: - Develop and execute a comprehensive event plan, encompassing logistics, budget allocation, marketing strategies, sponsorship acquisition, and meticulous vendor management. - Secure all necessary permits and approvals from relevant local authorities within the Middle East. - Craft and implement an innovative marketing and communication strategy to generate widespread excitement and maximize participation. - Cultivate and secure strategic sponsorships, fostering strong relationships with key partners. - Lead and inspire a team of volunteers and staff, providing clear direction and fostering exceptional teamwork. - Oversee comprehensive event budgeting and manage all financial aspects with precision. - Ensure rigorous adherence to all safety regulations and implement robust risk management protocols for sporting events. - Conduct a thorough post-event evaluation to identify key areas for improvement, informing future editions. **Desired Experience and Qualifications**: - Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in event management, with a strong preference for experience within the sports and mountain bike industry. - Demonstrated track record of successfully leading and managing complex, large-scale events. - Extensive experience in budget management, successful sponsorship acquisition, and skilled vendor negotiations. - In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to sporting events. - A genuine passion for mountain biking and a comprehensive understanding of the sport. - Experience working within the Middle East, particularly Qatar or the UAE, is highly advantageous. - Strong understanding of Middle Eastern event operations and regulations. - Fluency in English is essential. **Personal Characteristics**: - Exceptional event management capabilities, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills. - Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders. - Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring precision in all aspects of event planning and execution. - Superior planning and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively. - Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, complemented by strong verbal and written communication skills. - The ability to tailor complex messaging for various audiences, ensuring clarity and impact. - A proactive "can-do" attitude, with an eagerness to connect with the team and contribute meaningfully. - Demonstrated ability to lead effectively and also to work autonomously. - Adaptability and willingness to embrace change within a dynamic environment. - A positive and energetic team player - someone who embodies enthusiasm, collaboration, and a passion for the outdoors and adventure. **To Apply**: Join us and be part of creating truly unique and unforgettable events. **Job Type**: Part-time Application Question(s): Work Location: Remote
