Job Description Nov 2022 **ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT** **Job Title **Tunnel Control Room Operator **Job Code** **Department **Operation and Maintenance **Section** **Team **Tunnels Operations **Date last **28/11/22 **updated** **JOB CONTENT** **Role Objective** To assist and provide support to managing incidents on Road tunnels and their approaches, working in a busy control room to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow in line with Ashghal’s vision "Deliver and manage sustainable world class public buildings and infrastructure to fulfil Qatar’s national vision’’ Working on a shift pattern of 2 operators under the direction of an Operational Controller / Team Leader and for the O&M Manager. You will deal with general enquiries from and coordinate with Ashghal operational and maintenance staff, works contractors, emergency services and members of the public. **Roles & Responsibilities** - Co-ordination with team leader, duty manager and O&M manager - Keep an up to date and accurate log on activities - Liaise with emergency services - Communicate with all parties to ensure performance targets are met - Continuous and proactive monitoring of the tunnel environment and systems using SCADA to ensure traffic fluidity and safety. - Take appropriate action in the event of a tunnel incident or event work within the guidelines of the Incident Response Plan and coordinating with senior staff. - Scheduled and event driven communication with senior staff. - Liaise and coordinate with emergency services when necessary acting within the emergency and operator manual guidelines. - Record and update any event or Incident in the appropriate system. - Compliance to any tunnel operation associated processes or procedures. - Perform other related duties and responsibilities associated with the position as directed by senior staff - **This role will be shift based on a shift pattern of 12 Hours shifts 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM or 06:00 PM to 06:00 AM.
