DIGITAL PRINT MACHINE OPERATOR

( We are not looking for Offset print operator )

Primary Responsibilities
- Operate every kind of digital printing machine.
- Run several presses with different size and color capacities.
- Prepare machines for printing.
- Install the printing plate with the images to be printed.
- Press operators prepare machines for printing.
- Ink the presses, load paper, and adjust the press to the paper size.
- Ensure that paper and ink meet specifications
- Adjust the flow of ink to the inking rollers accordingly.
- Guide paper through the press cylinders and adjust feed and tension controls.
- Monitor their operation and keep the paper feeders well stocked.
- Make adjustments to manage ink distribution, speed, and temperature in the drying chamber.
- Correct paper tears or jams.
- Search for and correct problems.
- Make quick corrections to avoid expensive losses of paper and ink.
- Pull sheets to check for printing imperfections.
- Set up, monitor, and adjust the printing process on a control panel or computer monitor.
- Oil and clean the presses and make minor repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Perform digital, electrostatic, and ink-jet printing.
- Transfer files, blend colors, and proof images electronically using digital presses.

Responsible for daily operation of various digital print machines, ensuring production schedules and quality standards are met.

Follow prioritization of jobs according to deadlines on work orders. Notify team leader, production manager or quality department immediately if there is quality problem.

Be proactive and learn how to operate all machines, shadow co-workers when possible. Read and become familiar with machine manuals to assist in maintenance and trouble-shooting. Clean machines and keep them free from dust at all times. Perform scheduled maintenance on printing equipment as required. Keep work area clean and tidy, organize work orders, hardcopies and samples. Report all machine breakdowns immediately to direct supervisor Complete required production and quality reports as required, maintain log books. Communicate and work with pre-press and sales staff as required. Assist in Finishing Department, as required. Use company provided PPE when handling chemicals, and proper issued work uniforms Follow safety precautions when working with machines.. Other jobs that may be assigned by the Production Manager from time to time. Run proofs on all jobs and validate the file prior to printing Accurate records keeping on the running of big projects eg quantity produced Ensure a comprehensive turn over to the next shift prior to leaving your place of work All other jobs assigned to you by any of the direct supervisors as per the business requirement Required Qualifications and Personal Attributes: Large format digital printing and materials knowledge and experience. Good working knowledge of computer software as required. Personal attributes and commitments as follows: Mechanically inclined to operate Printing Machinery Above average Attention to detail Must be a self-motivated worker with a desire to complete all work on a timely basis. Contribute to continuous improvement program by offering suggestions and innovative ideas as well as following industry best practices Willing to work on a team with other employees in the collaboration or sharing of work. Willingness to work overtime and long hours at a time to complete jobs or work requirements. Willing to adhere to Company Policy and direction of Management. Willingness to work day or night shift as required by Production Manager
