Security Specialist

**About the role**

As Security Specialist, your are responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and encouraging security and loss prevention culture in Qatar Duty Free (QDF) following the strategic direction of the department. You will also develop, implement, document and update security processes and protocol and ensure its compliance within Qatar Duty Free, Qatar Airways and all aviation responsibilities within HIA. You will liaise with QR, subsidiaries and external agents ensuring that all regulatory requirements are implemented and monitored in QDF. You will also protect the interests of QDF avoiding unlawful acts of interference, theft, damages, fraud.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

- Provide support and act as the main focal point for all security related matters and to report directly into the Security Manager on issues or concerns with operations and/or staff.
- Encompass the overall security responsibilities at HIA and all other locations across QDF business through effective leadership in order to deliver a first class security operations.
- Assist the Security Manager with the creation and implementation of security standards, policies and procedures and monitor for compliance and spread awareness via various communication means, with focus on Loss Prevention processes, protocols, policies and procedures for internal and external theft and fraud.
- Implement and enforce Group Security applicable policies in QDF.
- Ensure compliance by all QDF entities of all AVSEC Security regulatory measures.
- Conduct investigations for all security incidents, prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend and take corrective measures.
- Work closely with the HR Department to ensure investigations are fully carried out to the required standard and desired conclusions.
- Collect and analyse security data to determine security requirements. Collect document and record security information, data and intelligence reports to identify trends, patterns, risks and areas of concerns or improvements. Prepare and submit monthly security reports to the Group Security.
- Plan and direct security activities including more than 40 POS related audits, locker room management, staff and guest purchase management, tool box talks, security induction for new joiners, to safeguard company assets, merchandize, employees, guests or others in company premises.
- Review performance and compliance of third party operators and advise them of company security policies and procedures in line with the company’s vision and goal. Review the performance of external security service provider and liaise with them for security operational responsibilities, ensuring the expected outcome of the team are carried out efficiently.

**Qualifications**:
**About you**
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience including supervising and management of staff.
- Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level
- Certificate in First Aid.
- Fire Warden Certificate.

Job-specific skills & experience:

- Knowledge of investigations and search procedures.
- Knowledge of Airport Security Plan. Knowledge of all aspects of retail and airport security.
- CCTV operations room management.
- Risk assessments.
- Conflicts resolutions.
- Loss prevention knowledge.
- Internal theft investigations.
- Have the ability to remain calm under pressure and take control of situations.
- Managerial skills
- Knowledge of Inventory Management and Sales (preferred)
- Good Knowledge of Retail dynamics AX software (R3 version) (preferred)
