Body Shop Technician

About the Role

Works in combination with the Lead Body Shop Technicians to perform refurbishment or repairs to body parts and assemblies of all types of GSE (Ground Support Equipment), fleet vehicles and non-motorized equipment (NME) in order to provide a safe, reliable and cost effective fleet to end-users.

Operational
- Performs exterior and interior body maintenance, fitting, welding, and /or painting/polishing to all types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), fleet vehicles and non-motorized equipment (NME) whilst ensuring the highest quality standards.
- Repairs and refinishes automotive and equipment body parts (such as windscreens, windows, fenders, doors, grilles, hoods, and bumpers).
- Repairs and/or installs body upholstery accessories and equipment.
- Welds and brazes auto bodies and chassis.
- Prepare vehicles and equipment for painting/refinishing.
- Applies decals and other signature material to painted body parts and whole equipment in accordance with equipment appearance policy.
- Uses automated maintenance data systems to document repair actions and monitor maintenance trends Utilizes reference materials such as drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications during the maintenance process.
- Ensures that all work performed or activities that occurred during the work shift are accurately documented and forwarded to workshop office at the end of the shift or otherwise as instructed by management.
- Practices good housekeeping, tool control, and safety at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

**Qualifications**:
About You
- Experienced - minimum 3 years of job-related experience or High School Qualification (e.g. O level, Year 10, min compulsory education)
- Basic literacy, Numeracy skills, English communication skills
- Experienced - minimum 2 years of job-related experience
- Workshop safety awareness trained.
- Able to obtain Workshop Safety Awareness Course, RSA (Ramp Safety Awareness) Course and Basic Airside Driving Course.
- Valid Driving License (Home Country or Local).
- Must be proficient in use of technical manuals, diagrams or schematics used to reference the build of vehicles or equipment.
- Must be able to safely use hand tools, body repair tools, paint mixing equipment and paint gun (sprayers).
- Welding, cutting, brazing and bonding skills.
- Capable of repairing, replacing, modifying, painting, polishing and performing corrosion control to exterior body panels and/or interior fixtures of GSE/fleet vehicles.
- Familiar with mechanical components; especially suspension components and their relevant functions as well as safety restraint systems and their relevant back-up and control systems.
- Capable of identifying types of tools, shop equipment, consumables and other industry related materials.
- Preferred: Should be a specialist in his field with at least 1 year experience in using automotive painting systems and/or disassembly, repair/replacement refinishing and reassembly of body panels, sub-assemblies and frame structures.
