Part-Time Tour Guide & Workshop Facilitator Job Description

Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:

- Tour Guiding:

- Conduct interactive and engaging farm tours for visitors of all ages, showcasing the farm’s plants, sustainability practices, and unique features.
- Share detailed knowledge about plants, farming techniques, and the importance of sustainable practices in an accessible and enthusiastic manner.
- Workshop Facilitation:

- Lead hands-on workshops related to farming, gardening, plant care, or other environmental topics.
- Adapt workshop content to suit various audience groups, ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Visitor Engagement:

- Build warm and empathetic relationships with visitors, addressing their questions and ensuring they feel welcome and valued.
- Promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among visitors.
- Professionalism & Conduct:

- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and adhere to the farm’s code of conduct.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of visitors during tours and workshops.
- Collaboration & Growth:

- Work closely with the farm team to develop new tour and workshop content.
- Stay updated on farm operations, plant species, and sustainability trends to enhance the visitor experience.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

- Passion for nature, farming, and sustainability practices.
- Warm, approachable, and enthusiastic personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, including children, families, and corporate clients.
- Basic knowledge of plants, gardening, and sustainable farming (training will be provided as needed).
- Empathetic, patient, and attentive to visitor needs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends or holidays, as needed.
