**1. PRIMARY PURPOSE**

Operate the cranes of the offshore platforms for onboard lifting operations and offload/ backloading to supply vessels, in addition to managing the maintenance of hydraulic systems and other mechanical maintenance works and overseeing the safety of personnel and equipment on helideck during helicopter operations, whilst observing all safety rules and regulations concerning landings, lake offs, shutdowns of aircraft.

**4. RESPONSIBILITIES**

1) Perform pre-operational inspection, including required checks for wire ropes, brake system. bolts pins and similar items and reports any potential defect or malfunction to the Mechanical Supervisor, in addition to calculating crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.

2) Operate the offshore cranes for loading and unloading of all types of material and equipment in accordance with specific lifting procedures, including following up on movement of material between the different locations to ensure they are placed at the right destinations, in addition to transporting personnel by basket from mains platforms to boats and vice versa under special circumstances such as bad weather conditions).

3) Assist maintenance when carrying out work on cranes, including tasks such as repositioning crane arm, lowering or lifting pulley, testing equipment, etc., as instructed by maintenance department.

4) Perform maintenance of hydraulic systems and miscellaneous mechanical maintenance tasks.

5) Perform duties as lifting and rigging expert, prepares lifting procedures and rigging schemes. Carries out specialist Rigger's duties on Offshore or Onshore wherever required.

6) Work according to Standing Instructions to Helicopter Operations.

7) Ensure helideck is clear for landing and takeoff, as well as checking all required fire / crash equipment is available and operational prior to ETA of aircraft in addition to ensuring that the standby vessel is available and standing-by 30 minutes prior to ETA of aircraft.

8) Supervise helideck assistants and passengers / freight on and off aircraft, coordinate loading / offloading of aircraft with flight crews, and converse with radio operator for matters pertaining to operation requirement.

9) Carry out back-up Lifeboat Coxswain duties to ensure safe preparation and operation of the platform lifeboat.

10) Provide guidance and training to the Contractor Offshore Crane Operators wherever applicable.

11) Comply with all company Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, in addition to participating in all HSE meetings and company QHSE promotional programs and reporting all accidents, incidents or near misses to supervisor/manager or to the QHSE Department ii supervisor/manager is not available.

12) Perform other similar or related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

**7. QUALIFICATION S & EXPERIENCE**

**Minimum Educational Requirements / Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
- Certification from Qatar Government required for Crane Drivers and Completion of all training requirements for Crane Operator.

**Minimum Experience**:

- 4 years of relevant experience in operating offshore cranes in an offshore environment, as well as mechanical maintenance experience.
- Experience in helicopter operations as HLO is preferable.

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical and judgmental skills.
- Good planner/organizer.
- Team player. Clear/logical thinker.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of Arabic and experience in working in the Gulf Area is an advantage.
- PC skills.
- Availability and flexibility to work in different places is an added advantage.
