Executive Chef

As the Executive Chef, you will oversee all kitchen operations, including menu development, team management, inventory control, and ensuring food quality and consistency. You will also be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Menu Creation & Innovation**:
- Develop and design menus that highlight authentic Italian and Mediterranean dishes, combining traditional techniques with modern culinary trends.
- Incorporate seasonal ingredients, ensuring freshness and sustainability.
- Collaborate with management to update and refresh the menu based on customer feedback, seasonal availability, and business goals.
- **Kitchen Management**:
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and prep cooks.
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and productive kitchen environment.
- Ensure all staff are trained on proper cooking techniques, presentation standards, and food safety protocols.
- **Quality Control**:
- Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s high standards for taste, quality, and presentation.
- Conduct regular tastings and quality checks to guarantee consistency and excellence.
- **Inventory & Cost Control**:
- Oversee kitchen inventory, ordering, and sourcing of ingredients, ensuring the use of fresh, high-quality products.
- Control food costs and minimize waste by implementing portion control measures and maximizing ingredient use.
- Monitor and adjust pricing based on food costs and market trends.
- **Health & Safety Compliance**:
- Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with health and safety regulations, including cleanliness, food handling, and storage procedures.
- Maintain a safe working environment by implementing safety protocols and guidelines.
- **Team Leadership & Development**:
- Motivate, mentor, and train kitchen staff, ensuring a positive, collaborative team culture.
- Provide regular feedback and performance reviews to team members to help them grow professionally.
- **Guest Interaction**:
- Occasionally interact with guests to gather feedback, discuss dishes, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and industry contacts to stay updated on trends and new products.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, or Senior Chef in an Italian or Mediterranean-focused restaurant or culinary establishment.
- Strong knowledge of traditional Italian and Mediterranean cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing a team of kitchen professionals.
- Ability to create and execute complex menus while maintaining consistency and high standards.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred.
- Passion for food and dedication to delivering an exceptional dining experience.
