Process Chemical Engineer

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Chemical Engineer to join our team, specializing in metal and wood processing.

This role requires a professional with extensive technical expertise and innovative thinking to enhance operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Process Design and Development**:

- Develop, implement, and refine chemical processes for metal extraction, refining, and wood treatment.
- Design process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for both metal and wood processing operations.
- Conduct pilot plant testing for both materials to validate new process designs.
- **Operational Oversight**:

- Monitor and manage the daily operations of metal and wood processing plants to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Collect and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement in both material processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to maintain seamless operations.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Develop and implement safety protocols specific to metal and wood processing environments.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure processes meet local and international safety and environmental regulations.
- Train staff on updated safety measures and process changes for both materials.
- **Process Optimization**:

- Identify areas to improve productivity, energy efficiency, and resource management in both metal and wood processes.
- Drive innovation by researching and integrating new technologies and methods.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, production teams, and quality control staff for both metal and wood sectors.
- Coordinate with suppliers of equipment and chemicals to improve and maintain processes.
- Provide training and technical support for operators and other staff.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed records of process designs, changes, and performance metrics for both metal and wood processing.
- Prepare reports on production efficiency, safety audits, and compliance for internal review and regulatory authorities.
- **Project Management**:

- Lead and manage projects focused on process improvements and the development of new production lines for metal and wood products.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and successful implementation of new processes.
- Support budgeting for new process equipment and related modifications.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience as a Process Chemical Engineer, with experience in both metal and wood industries.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and risk management specific to both metal and wood processing.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Project management experience is highly valued.
- Experience with sustainable and environmentally conscious processing methods is a plus.
