Cargo Transport Driver

About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for providing vehicular support that will ensure efficient freight movement of all commodities through the HUB. You will be thoroughly trained on all necessary vehicles, prior to supporting the operational requirement driving Forklifts - light and heavy, tractor, light vehicles and any other vehicles stipulated to be within your job role by QAS Cargo Management.
- Collect and transport cargo to various airside locations paying attention to items that require specialist handling (DG / VAL / PER / COU / AVI / Mail) to be carried out in line with operational procedures, safety and security.
- Carry out Pre Trip vehicle inspections and report on serviceability of equipment.
- Carry out accurate recording of freight locations using Hand Held Device at each pick and drop location.
- Carry out safe working practices in order to eliminate mishandling, incidents and accidents.
- Implementation and awareness of Special Handling Products including Perishable and Pharmaceutical products.
- Drive and Operate equipment to be in line with company Health and Safety guidelines.
- Ensure that all transported shipments are handled in line with company and departmental SOPs.

About you:

- Minimum 2 years of driving related experience with High School qualification.
- Valid Airport Vehicle Operation Permit (AVOP)/ Home country Light Vehicle License.
- Holding or be able to obtain Qatari Driving Light License (be able to pass driving test required to Qatari Driving Light License).
- Be able to operate aviation and logistics equipments.
- Good safety practices and be able to comply with company and departmental SOPs.
- Knowledge of Cargo Handling procedures and regulations.
- Be able to work with minimum supervision, unpredictable climate conditions and shift work with varying working hours to fit the operational requirement.
