Junior Traffic Engineer

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Junior Traffic Engineer **to join our team In this role you would likely get to assist with traffic engineering projects, conduct analysis to improve traffic flow, design traffic management plans, and collaborate with senior engineers and project managers.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Conducting Traffic Studies for major roads infrastructure projects involving transportation demand modeling, traffic operations analysis, and public transit planning based on MOT-LTPD guidelines and procedures for transport studies.
- Performing microsimulation modelling analysis for road intersections corridors, bus facilities and development sites.
- Parking management, parking demand and supply, parking design within buildings, traffic circulations, determining the number of accesses/egresses.
- Preparation and coordination for data collection tasks required for traffic studies including traffic counts surveys such as Automatic Traffic Counts, Turning Movement Counts, Manual Classification Counts and Delay and Queue Surveys.
- Report writing, minutes of meetings, and preparation of presentations.

**What Required Skills You'll Bring**:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 4 years or more of experience as a traffic/transportation engineer in undertaken traffic studies for various types of developments and road infrastructure projects, intersections design and road safety.
- Experience with hands-on transport planning software such as VISUM, as well as traffic. operational analysis using software programs such as HCS, SIDRA, Synchro, VISSIM, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual.
- Familiar with Qatar local standards such as QHDM and QTCM, and MOT-LTPD guidelines and procedures for transport studies.
- Prior experience working in Qatar is a must as well as MME registration.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
