**Job Summary**:
A **BIM Engineer** is responsible for the creation, management, and optimization of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for construction or design projects. **Key Responsibilities**:

- **BIM Model Creation & Management**:

- Develop and manage 3D BIM models for building projects, including architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) models.
- Ensure the models are coordinated across different disciplines to avoid conflicts and ensure accurate design representations.
- Maintain and update BIM models throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring they reflect the latest design changes and data.
- **Collaboration & Coordination**:

- Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure BIM models meet project requirements and specifications.
- Coordinate the integration of models from different disciplines (e.g., architecture, structural engineering, MEP) and perform clash detection to resolve issues.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings to address design or model-related challenges.
- **Clash Detection & Issue Resolution**:

- Use clash detection software (e.g., Navisworks) to identify conflicts in the BIM models, such as spatial clashes between structural, mechanical, and electrical components.
- Report clashes, assist in resolving issues, and ensure the models are updated to reflect changes.
- **BIM Documentation & Reporting**:

- Prepare and deliver BIM-related documentation, including drawings, models, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with the creation of construction drawings, detail sheets, and other project documentation from the BIM model.
- Document and track model revisions and updates, maintaining version control.
- **Model Quality Control**:

- Ensure that the BIM models comply with project specifications, standards, and industry best practices.
- Perform quality checks to verify the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the models, ensuring they align with the project requirements.
- Follow the company’s BIM execution plan and ensure compliance with BIM standards.
- **BIM Software & Tools**:

- Utilize BIM software tools like **Revit**, **Navisworks**, **AutoCAD**, or **Tekla Structures** for modeling and coordination.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge related to BIM software and tools.
- Assist in selecting and implementing new software or tools to enhance the BIM process.
- **Data Management**:

- Ensure proper management of project data, maintaining a consistent and organized file structure.
- Help ensure that the BIM data is accessible and shareable across the project team, typically using a common data environment (CDE) or cloud-based platform.
- Oversee the integration of data into the BIM models, such as material specifications, cost estimates, or facility management information.
- **Training & Support**:

- Provide support to other team members and stakeholders in using BIM software and tools.
- Assist in the training of new staff or colleagues on BIM processes, workflows, and best practices.
- Help resolve technical issues related to BIM software or model discrepancies.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Proficiency in BIM software tools, such as **Revit**, **Navisworks**, **AutoCAD**, **Tekla**, or other modeling software.
- Strong understanding of construction and engineering principles, as well as knowledge of design standards and building codes.
- Familiarity with clash detection and resolution processes using BIM software.
- Experience with data management and version control in BIM projects.
- Knowledge of BIM standards, protocols, and industry guidelines (e.g., ISO 19650).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with various teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills to address design conflicts, technical issues, or modeling challenges.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail.

**Educational Background**:

- A **degree** or **diploma** in **architecture**, **engineering**, **construction management**, or a related field is typically required.
- **BIM-specific training** or certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional) can be beneficial.
- Experience working with BIM on real-world projects (internships, previous positions) is highly valuable.
