Lead Resource Scheduler

As a Lead Resource Scheduler in MRO Operational Support Center, you will be responsible to lead and oversee the planning, coordination, and optimization of manpower and resources across MRO operations/Cabin & IFE, ensuring the effective allocation of technicians and engineers based on operational demand, skill sets, and regulatory compliance. The Lead Resource Scheduler plays a pivotal role in ensuring maintenance schedules are adequately resourced to meet operational, safety, and quality targets in a cost-effective and timely manner.
MRO Operational Support Center
Develop, maintain, and oversee the execution of daily, weekly, and long-term manpower plans.
Ensure optimal allocation of staff based on qualifications, availability, shift patterns, and workload across MRO units.
Monitor schedule adherence and make real-time adjustments to support operational continuity.
Collaborate with Production Planning and Maintenance teams to forecast resource needs based on planned maintenance, special checks, and seasonal trends.
Support capacity planning and future manpower forecasting based on workload projections.
Lead a team of schedulers and analysts, ensuring adherence to planning standards and effective communication with stakeholders.
Coordinate with training and HR teams to ensure certification, licensing, and skill are factored into scheduling.
Ensure all scheduling practices align with regulatory, and safety requirements.
Use enterprise scheduling tools to manage and analyze resource data.
Track utilization, overtime, and resource gaps; generate KPIs and performance dashboards for management review.
Identify inefficiencies and propose data-driven improvements in resource deployment.
Support continuous improvement by reviewing planning processes and adopting MRO industry best practices in resource management.
Ensure alignment with corporate policies, safety, and operational excellence standards.
Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department
Cabin & IFE
Ensuring that the training/authorization of all Cabin/IFE staff is up to date to meet the company regulatory/policy and procedure compliance.
Oversee manpower resourcing of Aircraft deliveries and our source maintenance activities for QR fleet and to ensure that all documentations like visa/authorization, approvals are ready prior their travel.
Oversee the rostering of Engineers and Mechanics to ensure additional manpower is available to support Cabin & IFE Operations.
Preparing and writing KPI reports, Overtime summary reports, production hours' summary reports as instructed by the Line Manager.
Ensuring that manpower requirements at Cabin and IFE (Doha Base) are in line with the Qatar Airways CAME and TPM at all times, providing both continued airworthiness of the fleet with operational integrity.
To ensure all QR scheduled and unscheduled flight coverages are met, including passenger and freighter flights where technical coverage is not available.
Focal point to Production control center and to meet KPl's set by management.
Manage all AOG situations with regard to manpower resourcing and planning.
Indirectly supervise employees. Direct daily activities, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery. Coordinates with the resource schedulers working on shift pattern basis in conjunction with the Light/ Heavy Maintenance production control center team for 24/7 manpower requirements.
Recommends amendments of procedures and practices to improve the performance in cost effective manner.

Qualification and experience:
High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience OR
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
Essential experience in Airline apprenticeship or recognized Engineering Training.
Certified in computer application - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
Job Specific Skills:
Essential
Strong knowledge of manpower planning, shift scheduling, and resource optimization in an MRO or aviation operations environment.
Familiarity with MRO maintenance processes, including typical maintenance task durations, manpower loading, and turn times.
Proficient in scheduling/planning tools such as AMOS, TRAX, or similar ERP/MRO systems.
Ability to analyze workload trends, staff utilization, and productivity metrics using Excel, Power BI, or equivalent tools.
Understanding of aviation authority requirements (e.g., QCAA, EASA, FAA) related to licensing, working hours, and resource compliance.
Capable of making informed decisions in a fast-paced operational environment, balancing priorities and available resources.
Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with production, planning, training, and HR teams.
Experience in supervising or mentoring a small team, with the ability to lead daily planning huddles or meetings.
Preferred
Knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, or LEAN principles in a maintenance environment.
Familiarity with project scheduling concepts, especially around hangar slot planning or campaign maintenance tasks.
Understanding of how scheduling systems can integrate with attendance, HR, and planning tools to improve efficiency.
Prior exposure to scheduling resources across multiple aircraft types and maintenance programs.
Experience in a large-scale airline or MRO setup with 24/7 operations.
