As a Senior Database Administrator
, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the databases that power our insurance applications and IT systems—including our cutting-edge
New Insurance Application
. This is more than a technical role; it's an opportunity to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of data that supports critical business decisions.

You'll collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and business units to deliver seamless implementations, smooth data migrations, and robust ongoing operations—all while ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

What You'll Do

• Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.).
• Install, configure, and upgrade databases across primary and disaster recovery sites.
• Optimize performance, ensure high availability, and plan for future capacity needs.
• Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Manage database security, user roles, and access privileges in line with compliance standards.
• Support data migration and validation during system implementations and upgrades.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and optimize queries.
• Implement and monitor replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms for resilience.
• Proactively troubleshoot performance issues and maintain system stability.
• Document schemas, standards, and operating procedures for consistency.
• Provide database support for testing phases (UAT, regression, production releases).
• Contribute to architecture design for scalability and future growth.
• Work with advanced tools like Imperva and Oracle-specific technologies (Data Guard, RAC, ASM).
• Coordinate with Oracle Support for patches and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security frameworks.
• Be ready to provide 24/7 support when needed.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 5–8 years of proven experience as a DBA, ideally in insurance or financial services.
• Expertise in Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, and related technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle versions and core components.
• Familiarity with Oracle tools like Data Guard, RAC, ASM.
• Skills in performance tuning, optimization, and high-availability architectures.
• Experience in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Knowledge of data migration, ETL, and integration for large-scale projects.
• Proficiency in SQL scripting, PL/SQL, and automation tools.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of database security best practices and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and vendors.
