Description



Maintenance Technical Activities

  • Understand and complies with position related safety SOP's and work instruction, based on the work category. Identify the necessary resource / safety requirements. Coordination operational procedure.
  • Maintain efficient repair of static equipment's like structures, pipeline, etc., of Qatar Steel's various plants and inspect equipment for maintenance and repair work.
  • Observe of work Assignments based on the work category. Identify the necessary resource / safety requirements. Coordination operational procedure.
  • Read, Understand and comply with engineering drawings Working instruction, Templates, patterns and / or sketches to ensure the Material List. To achieve repair in compliance with specific operating standards.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspection of assigned equipment including those related to building machinery and as a support service to production, report findings and take appropriate action. Preform maintenance work orders as required.
  • Ensure all regular repair equipment, should meet all repair procedure and results to be recorded in order to ensure ongoing plant / equipment accuracy and reliability
  • Inspect defects / issues and determine whether equipment should be repaired or replaced in order to support the continuous availability of the Equipment.
  • Provide constructive feedback and measures to senior colleagues in order to ensure appropriate remedial action and / or planning of future maintenance activity. 
  • Attend with CRS Ironwork team the unscheduled emergencies cases and repair activities, and estimate the repair job schedule with time duration to complete a job in order to ensure that the risk to personnel and plant / equipment is minimized


Policies, and Procedures

  • Understands and follows all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures and work instructions in the CRS Finishing Section so that work is carried out in a controlled and effective manner.


Shutdown Activities

  • Participate in the shutdown activities as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Assist Sr. Technician in the preparation of Shutdown job list and schedule.


Safety, Health & Environment

  • Ensure all operating, safety, environment and quality procedures are followed in order to ensure the highest standards of operational integrity are achieved and maintained
  • Follow the HSE rules, regulations, and procedures of the company, and report any HSE concerns and incidents to the responsible person


Other Assignments

  • Carry out any additional tasks as required by the Management / Superiors.


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: 



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Secondary School /Technical School Graduate  / Trade test certification.

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 years relevant work experience for Trade test certificate / Secondary School holder
  • 1 Year relevant work experience for technical school graduate.
  • Manufacturing/ steel industry experience is preferred.

Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):

  • Competent enough to weld copper, aluminium, CS, etc.
  • Capable of welding in both arc welding & Tig welding.
  • Capable of reading & understanding the Fabrication drawings.
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • English language skills – Read & Write
