About the role

We are recruiting for a Tour Guide I, to be based in Doha, Qatar.

Responsible to do rapid and light tours with short duration of time for small groups and families. To be an ambassador of Discover Qatar by presenting the brand in a proper way and provide memorable guest experience by maintaining high quality service delivery standard. Aware about the unique places that will interest the tourists and differentiate between the historical, cultural, educational, and other tours destination and providing the groups interesting information about the attractions.

As part of your role, your responsibilities will be inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

• Greeting and welcoming customers, creating an entertaining environment and ensuring that they are well informed about the itinerary for each of the tours.
• Accompany visitors to tour site locations and explain emergency procedures to ensure the safety of the group remains a top priority.
• Plan alternative activities in case cancellations, closures or unexpected weather conditions occur and ensure that customers are informed of any changes to the tour.
• Monitor the behaviour of the group to ensure that everyone is in compliance with the rules and maintaining and adhering to the required safety standards and describe the tour points of interest to the group, respond to their questions and maintain a positive, friendly demeanour with customers at all times.
• Assemble and check the required supplies and equipment prior to departure, ensuring a safe and compliant operation of the tour in accordance with legal requirements and promotions.
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• High school or equivalent with minimum 2 years of job-related experience
• Possess factual knowledge of Qatar history, geography, growth and development
• Ability to multi task, aware of proficient in MS office is a must
• Must be a good team member, well-groomed and sociable in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with people from different backgrounds and having time management skills
