Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled
Mechanical Draftsman
with strong experience in
MEP and fit-out projects
, particularly within
F&B outlets
(restaurants, cafés, and kitchens – interior and exterior). The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing detailed mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and coordination layouts for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems, ensuring compliance with design standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate
    mechanical (MEP) shop drawings
    , detailed sections, and as-built drawings for F&B fit-out projects.
  • Coordinate and update
    HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting
    services layouts in line with architectural and structural drawings.
  • Ensure design and drafting comply with
    Qatar Construction Standards (QCS)
    and relevant authority requirements (QCDD, Ashghal, etc.).
  • Liaise with project engineers, designers, and site teams to resolve discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
  • Maintain and update drawing logs, revision control, and document submittals.
  • Prepare
    fabrication drawings
    for ducting, pipework, and equipment installation layouts.
  • Participate in
    site coordination meetings
    to ensure accuracy and feasibility of mechanical installations.
  • Ensure all drawings are in accordance with company CAD standards and project-specific templates.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum
    5 years of experience
    as a Mechanical Draftsman, with at least
    3 years in Qatar
    .
  • Proven experience in
    F&B fit-out projects
    – interior and exterior (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of
    AutoCAD, Revit MEP
    , and related design software.
  • Familiarity with MEP coordination, detailing, and authority approval procedures in Qatar.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with
    kitchen equipment layouts and MEP connections
    .
  • Understanding of
    HVAC load distribution and duct routing for confined spaces
    .
  • Knowledge of
    QCDD standards
    for fire protection systems.
  • Ability to generate
    BOQs
    and support engineers in quantity verification.
