Sr. Architect Engineer

Job Summary:

Responsible for developing, managing, and recording technical aspects of the project. Work closely with department team on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production. Also responsible for project deliverables, meeting overall project design schedules, as well as preparing and presenting design presentations. Ensure projects are completed with high levels of technical competency, understanding of the construction documentation. To be able to liaise with clients, take down briefs and assist with concept designs and design development.

Duties & Responsibilities, (include but not limited to):

• Manage the design process from inception through concept, schematic design, detail design to ensure quality and client satisfaction.

• Design and /or review architectural or engineering plans and all required documents.

• Follow up with the sub-consultant's review / approved the necessary drawings / reports to obtain the client approval at all stage.

• Provide technical expertise in development or review of policies and procedures in relation to architectural, structures and systems and construction / safety code.

-Research and maintain knowledge of current building materials and methods of application

• Excellent knowledge of local design requirements and code.

-Incorporate applicable building codes and ADA code compliance regulations.

-Approve the drawings and plans made by the team validating approval for further process.

• Check and fix any issues that might occur on the design.

• Prepare the scope of work, specifications and drawings for tender documents.

-Prepare and maintain up to date planning and progress schedules.

• Coordinate a team effort to complete a project promptly and successfully.

• Act as intermediary between Client & the team.

• Work around constraining factors such as town planning legislation, environmental impact and project budget.

• Apply for building permits and obtain Municipal approval.

• Write and present reports, proposals, applications and contracts

• Specify the requirements for the project

• Adapt plans according to circumstances and resolving any problems that may arise during construction.

-Stick to financial budgets and deadlines.

-Prepare tender applications and presentations.

-Use company documentation standards

-Ensure that the documents meet the municipal, company and client standards/ protocols.

-Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements and Audits.

-Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Business development & tenders management activities

-To ensure, Implement, Maintain quality, safety and environmental systems in compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards

• Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental department requirements and Audits.

• To Report and record the QHSE dept. non-conformities and in coordination with QHSE dept for closure.

-Identifying, evaluating, and controlling hazards and risks in the workplace, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and promoting a culture of quality, health, safety & environmental within the organization.

• Understanding, support and follow the waste management system

-Coordinate and contact the organization ERT team during in emergency case

• Record, report the incidents and near misses to the management and QHSE dept.

Education & Experience:

• B. Sc. In Architecture / Architectural Engineering

• Minimum 10 years of years of experience

• MME certified grade

• UPDA Grade A

Required Skills:

• Proficient in the use of applicable design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, 3Ds Max, Sketch Up, Photoshop, etc.

• Creative, artistic, adaptable, flexible and has a critical eye for details.

-Good lighting and realistic physical material skills.

-Knowing of building codes.

• Willingness to work long hours under time and budget pressure.

• Excellent design and drafting skills and proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD)

• A keen eye for detail, as well as the ability to see the bigger picture of a project.

• Organizational, project management and planning skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks.

• An analytical mind with excellent problem-solving and mathematical ability

• An awareness of the specific environmental and social impact of your projects.
