Principal Highway Design Engineer

Qatar

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Highway Design Engineer to join our team In this role you will get to function as Discipline project Supervising Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the project team.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Act as the Discipline Project Supervising Engineer, leading and managing medium to large highway design projects.
  • Oversee the design and development of highway systems, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering task or project requiring large scale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
  • Perform complex engineering road and highway tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately;
  • Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
  • Ensures compliance of design with all applicable standards and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
  • Develops standard design procedures; prepares design briefs and may conduct on-site training of personnel.
  • Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
  • Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.  May assist Section Supervisors with other administrative and technical duties.
  • Recommends and prepares technical papers.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 10 years of progressive experience in highway design, with a proven track record of successfully managing medium to large transportation related projects.
  • Chartered Engineer
  • Proficiency in utilizing Civil 3D / AutoCAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills notably with various levels of the organization and externally.
  • MME-UPDA Grade A.
