Job Purpose:

To operate and maintain CNC machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (lathe, milling, or turning centers) to produce parts as per technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Review blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications to ensure correct machining operations.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for machining processes.
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure tools are in optimal working condition.
  • Adjust machine parameters to improve quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Maintain production documentation, inspection reports, and records of work performed.
  • Follow company safety standards and quality procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality inspectors to resolve machining and process issues.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma / Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in heavy engineering or energy sector (experience in MAN engines or similar is an advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc / Siemens / Heidenhain controls).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T symbols.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety consciousness.
