Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance on our interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all site activities are conducted in accordance with local safety regulations, project requirements, and company HSE policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor day-to-day site activities to ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of the fit-out project site to identify potential hazards.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures among workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct safety inductions and training for new workers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate safety reports, incident logs, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate and report all accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
  • Coordinate emergency drills and maintain first-aid and fire safety equipment on site.
  • Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and consultants to promote a culture of safety.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, civil defense, and municipality regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Safety Officer role, specifically in interior fit-out or construction projects.
  • Certified in NEBOSH IGC / OSHA / IOSH or equivalent HSE qualification.
  • Knowledge of local safety regulations and legal requirements.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in reporting and documentation.

Preferred:

  • Experience with commercial, retail, or office fit-out projects.
  • First Aid and Fire Warden certifications.
  • Multilingual (Arabic, Hindi, or other languages is a plus).
