Exercise Physiologist

To work closely as a key member of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team comprised of professionals including, but not limited to; medical doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, expressive arts psychotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and addiction counsellors. Patients under your care will have a history of substance-related and addictive disorders and co-morbid conditions such as persistent pain and diabetes. Bring your competence and expertise as a skilled professional to showcase how human movement can be utilized as a key treatment tool in recovery and overall wellness. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• To undertake structured interviews, physical assessments (including movement screens), and conducting exercise sessions of individuals and groups and the tracking of sessions in a comprehensive EMR system.
• To assist in the development of physical movement for use in the treatment of clinical problems associated with and arising from substance-related and addictive disorders and co-morbid conditions. Treatment plans will be devised, updated and conducted.
• To guide patients in the development of skills and strategies useful in allowing optimal movement patterns to assist in establishing a higher quality of life for the patient.
• To assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of counselling and movement programs in the progress of patients.

Professional/Academic Qualifications:

• A Master's Degree, MSc Exercise Science.
• Licensed as an exercise physiologist, Kinesiologist or exercise specialist in home country

Experience:

• At least 3 years' experience in a clinical, community or clinical academic setting exposing the person to client groups and service settings directly relevant to human movement and activity prescription for wellness
