Hiring: Senior Safety Officer (Subsea & Offshore)

  • Contract duration: 2 years
  • Work Location: (Ras Laffan/Offshore)

Work Schedule

  • Onshore: 6 days per week (Saturday – Thursday)
  • Offshore: 7 days per week, aligned with the offshore campaign schedule

We are looking for an experienced
Senior Safety Officer
to act as the client's vessel/site-based HSE representative for major subsea and offshore installation campaigns. This role ensures compliance with Qatari and international legislation, IOGP, IMCA, and QE LNG standards while driving a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of contractor HSE systems and compliance.
  • Lead risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Champion safety awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in HAZID, HIRA, JSA, and constructability reviews.
  • Monitor offshore high-risk activities and emergency preparedness.
  • Liaise with contractors and ensure adherence to Life Saving Rules.
  • Implement audit and assurance plans for high-risk activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety / Risk Management / Engineering or NVQ Level 5/6.
  • NEBOSH Level 3 (mandatory).
  • ISO Auditor certification (ISO 9001 / 14001 /
  • OPITO BOSIET / FOET / T-BOSIET (including HUET) and H2S training.
  • Medically fit for offshore work.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 10 years in HSE roles within offshore oil & gas, including significant time on Dive Support Vessels (DSVs) or Marine/Subsea Installation Vessels during diving operations.
  • Experience with Client/Developer or EPCI Contractor on brownfield projects/shutdowns.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices (OSHA, ISO14001, ISO45001, IOGP, IMCA, SOLAS).
  • Expertise in managing offshore high-risk activities: Diving (Sat/Air), Rigging & Lifting, Working at Height, Confined Space, Hot Works, Electrical Safety, Energy Isolation, Pressure Testing, Marine Operations, Emergency Management.
  • Familiarity with Taproot Root Cause Analysis or equivalent (Kelvin Topset).
  • Knowledge of IOGP reports (e.g., IOGP 411, 423) and IMCA standards for Diving/Marine/ROV operations.
