Public Relations Officer

Qatar

Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Public Relations Officer to join our team In this role, you will coordinate between internal and external stakeholders for a specific project, ensuring smooth communication and resolution of public relations matters.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Address, handle, and resolve conflicts, feedback, and complaints from the public and residents regarding construction project inconveniences.
  • Establish and maintain open communication with the public, residents, municipalities, Ministry of Interior (MOI), traffic police, government departments, embassies, and other stakeholders on public relations issues related to the project.
  • Translate required documents and emails, ensuring the meaning of the source text is accurately retained.
  • Manage correspondence from clients and site teams.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to clarify any unclear points in communication.
  • Proofread and edit final translated documents to ensure grammatical accuracy and clarity.
  • Provide clients with well-expressed, grammatically correct final versions of translated texts, typically in word-processed format.
  • Conduct regular and ad hoc visits to residents affected by construction works, providing necessary reports and feedback to clients and affected residents.
  • Coordinate closely with the construction supervision team to minimize inconvenience to the public.
  • Demonstrate experience in public relations, particularly in handling public complaints within the construction industry.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Qatari culture to ensure effective communication and engagement.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as required.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Degree, Diploma or equivalent with 10 years of demonstrable experience in public relations and communication, with at least 5 years focused on public customer service.
  • Proficiency in keyboard skills and working knowledge of MS Windows, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken), with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in design software are mandatory.
  • Ability to work under pressure and effectively handle public complaints.
  • Prior experience working in Qatar is required.
