Specialist- Windows Patch Management for Qatar

We are looking for Specialist- Windows Patch Management for Qatar location.

Key Responsibilities

  1. End-to-End Windows & Endpoint Patching Lifecycle Management

  2. End-to-End Patching Lifecycle Management:

  3. Plan, test, schedule, and deploy patches for a large estate of 500+ Windows Servers (2016/2019/2022), 1,200+ Workstations, and 60+ Virtual Desktops (VDI).
  4. Conduct pre- and post-patch testing to validate patch compatibility and ensure system stability.
  5. Develop and maintain detailed patching schedules and runbooks for all environments (Dev, Staging, Prod).
  6. Tooling & Automation:
  7. Administer and optimize enterprise patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM/MECM, Azure Update Manager, Ivanti, ManageEngine).
  8. Automate patch deployment workflows and reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  9. Manage patch groups, deployment rings, and maintenance windows within the tooling platform.
  10. Compliance & Reporting:
  11. Generate and analyze patch compliance reports to identify gaps and ensure adherence to security baselines (e.g., CIS Benchmarks).
  12. Maintain near 100% patch compliance for critical and security-related updates within defined SLAs.
  13. Provide detailed reports for management and audit purposes.
  14. Risk Management & Collaboration:
  15. Assess patch criticality and potential business impact to prioritize deployment.
  16. Collaborate closely with Security, Application, and Infrastructure teams to coordinate patch cycles and mitigate risks.
  17. Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to present patching plans and obtain approvals.
  18. Incident Resolution:
  19. Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting failed deployments or patch-related system issues.
  20. Perform root cause analysis for patch-related incidents and implement corrective actions.
  21. Qualifications & Skills:
  22. Essential:
  23. 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise-scale Windows patch management.
  24. Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server and Windows 10/11 client operating systems.
  25. Proven experience with SCCM/MECM and WSUS for patch distribution and reporting.
  26. Strong understanding of ITIL processes, particularly Change and Release Management.
  27. Excellent scripting skills (PowerShell) for automation.
  28. Desirable:
  29. Experience with VDI patching (VMware Horizon, Citrix).
  30. Familiarity with Azure Arc and cloud-based update management.
  31. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate).
