The GRP Pipe Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and preparing GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) piping systems according to approved drawings, dimensions, and project specifications. The role involves hands-on work in cutting, grinding, lamination, and joining GRP pipes and fittings for water, drainage, and industrial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings, isometric sketches, and fabrication details related to GRP piping.
  • Measure, mark, cut, and prepare GRP pipes and fittings using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Perform lamination, wrapping, and bonding of joints using resin and fiberglass materials as per manufacturer's specifications.
  • Carry out repair and modification works on damaged GRP sections or fittings.
  • Ensure correct alignment and fit-up before joining or lamination.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area; handle materials properly to prevent damage.
  • Follow company HSE policies and wear all required PPE during fabrication and installation.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and QC inspectors for inspection and approval before installation.
  • Assist in hydrotesting, leak checks, and finishing of installed GRP lines.
  • Keep daily records of materials used, joint numbers, and completed fabrication tasks.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a GRP Fabricator or Lamination Technician in water/sewage/industrial piping projects.
  • Knowledge of GRP fabrication standards (ISO 10467, BS EN 1796, AWWA C950).
  • Skilled in cutting, grinding, lamination, and repair of GRP materials.
  • Ability to read basic piping drawings and work independently.
  • Experience with manual lay-up and resin application (epoxy/polyester).
  • Physically fit and able to work under site conditions and tight schedules.
  • Candidates available in Qatar with NOC / transferable visa preferred.
