Head of Data Architecture & Strategy

Doha, Qatar

This strategic leadership role is central to shaping the Bank's data-driven future — building a resilient, secure, and intelligent data ecosystem that powers innovation and decision-making across all business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Bank's Data Vision:
    Define and deliver an enterprise-wide data strategy in partnership with the CDIO, aligning data capabilities with business growth objectives.
  • Architect Scalable Solutions:
    Design and implement robust, high-performance data architectures and technology platforms that enable advanced analytics and automation.
  • Governance & Compliance:
    Establish and uphold strong data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with QCB and other regulatory standards.
  • Integration & Transformation:
    Oversee data integration, migration, and modernization initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy across the enterprise.
  • Security & Reliability:
    Build secure, compliant, and scalable data infrastructure that supports evolving business and regulatory demands.
  • Collaboration & Innovation:
    Work closely with IT and digital transformation teams to embed data-driven insights at the core of strategic decisions.
  • Team Leadership:
    Inspire and lead a multidisciplinary team of data engineers, architects, and analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Future-Ready Data Practices:
    Champion the adoption of emerging technologies and tools in data and analytics to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree in Data Science, Technology Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in banking or financial services, with deep expertise in data architecture, governance, and technology platforms.
  • Proven record of delivering enterprise-scale data programs and building modern, scalable solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of big data technologies, cloud platforms, and data security principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in data governance, metadata management, and regulatory compliance.
