The main duties and responsibilities of a CAD Designer include:

  • Using CAD software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for projects.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other professionals on design concepts.
  • Ensuring that all drawings and designs are in line with project specifications and guidelines.
  • Using design software to revise, update, and correct drawings as necessary.
  • Providing technical guidance and assistance to the team in the use of CAD software.
  • Reviewing blueprints, plans, specifications and other customer documentation if service is requested by the application engineer or project manager.
  • Performing physical testing on engineering prototypes.
  • Presenting and explaining designs to clients and stakeholders.
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest design software and technology.
  • Maintaining a database of all CAD drawings, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible for future reference.
