Role Overview:

As the Head of Advisory (Banking), you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction of our advisory services division, specifically within the banking sector. You will lead a team of talented professionals and work closely with senior management to develop and implement effective advisory strategies tailored to our banking clients' unique needs. Your primary objective will be to provide expert guidance, foster client relationships, and deliver comprehensive solutions that drive growth and maximize profitability for both the bank and its clients.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute the overall advisory strategy for the banking sector, aligning it with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Provide strong leadership to the advisory team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Set clear performance targets and provide guidance to team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality advisory services.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Ability to source deals

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key banking clients, acting as a trusted advisor and thought leader.
  • Identify client's needs and challenges, providing strategic insights and customized solutions that address their unique requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of advisory services and exceed client expectations.
  • Coordinating multiple projects within the scope of financial advisory services, including company valuation, business plan preparation, financial restructuring, and M&A operations (sell-side/buy-side), primarily in the banking, insurance, and real estate sectors.
  • Assisting in structuring transactions and analyzing acquisition/divestment strategies.
  • Engaging with investors, targets, and stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Preparing and analyzing investment opportunity presentations, such as teasers and information memoranda.
  • Supporting bid preparation and analysis.
  • Providing negotiation support.
  • Managing project teams, organizing and planning projects, and ensuring their successful execution in collaboration with the project partner.
  • Assisting in developing commercial approaches for potential national and international clients.

Business Development:

  • Drive business growth within the banking sector by identifying new opportunities, expanding existing client relationships, and leveraging cross-selling opportunities.
  • Lead business development efforts, including client pitches, proposals, and presentations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting the banking sector to identify new areas of growth and potential risks.

Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing advisory team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members, promoting their career growth and advancement within the organization.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork, knowledge sharing, and innovation.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience working with the Big4 is preferred.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in banking, with a focus on advisory services, corporate finance, investment banking, or related areas.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing advisory teams within the banking industry.
  • Strong understanding of the banking sector, including regulatory frameworks, industry trends, and emerging challenges.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, analyze complex situations, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities, with the aptitude to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with a track record of driving business growth and achieving revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, modeling, and valuation techniques.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are highly valued.
