Overview:

As a Barback or Bar Helper, you will be a valuable support member of our bar team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bar.

Your primary responsibility is to assist bartenders and ensure they have everything they need to serve customers effectively. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn about bartending and the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities:

Bar Setup and Organization:

  • Prepare the bar area before service, ensuring it is clean, stocked, and organized.
  • Restock bar supplies, such as glassware, napkins, straws, and garnishes.
  • Arrange bottles, liquors, and bar tools in a neat and accessible manner.

Beverage Preparation Assistance:

  • Assist bartenders in preparing nonalcoholic beverages, garnishes, and simple syrup.
  • Learn to mix and pour basic drinks under the guidance of experienced bartenders.
  • Help with the preparation of specialty cocktails, as needed.

Glassware Handling and Cleaning:

  • Collect used glassware from tables and the bar area and clean them promptly.
  • Polish glassware to maintain an attractive presentation for drinks.

Restocking and Inventory Management:

  • Monitor bar inventory levels and notify bartenders or management when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Assist in receiving and organizing deliveries of beverages and barrelated items.

Customer Service Support:

  • Interact with customers in a friendly and attentive manner.
  • Assist in delivering drinks and food orders to customers, as required.

Cleanliness and Sanitation:

  • Maintain a clean and tidy bar area throughout the shift, wiping down surfaces, and cleaning spills promptly.
  • Empty trash cans and recycling bins regularly.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with bartenders and other bar staff to ensure efficient service and a positive working environment.
  • Assist in other tasks as directed by bartenders or management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a barback or bar helper is not mandatory; however, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Strong physical stamina, as this role involves continuous standing, lifting, and carrying of heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Teamoriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work during peak business hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
