To provide commercial support to the General Manager of the business working closely with the GM, prepare credible financial forecasts, budgets, full-fill statutory accounting obligations, applying controls in the management of the business using business information management systems, improve processes for efficient transaction processing working with the shared services team and controls and manage the credit control process in the business.


Essential duties & responsibilities:
Provide commercial support and assistance to the GM in sales contracts

  • Prepare the management accounts for the laboratory / business
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts in consultation with the GM and management team and assistance from shared services team
  • Analyse business performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that enable management to track progress against budgets and also improve financial performance
  • Work closely with the GM in the day to day performance management of the laboratory
  • Operate as a member of the management team of the business
  • Manage and conclude all statutory obligations from an accounting point of view (e.g. year-end statutory audit)
  • Manage the direct and indirect taxation of the laboratory / business
  • Manage the credit control function of the laboratory using a team of credit controllers
  • Ensure controls are in place in the accounting for processed samples and samples in process and advise on the usage and improvement of LIMs systems
  • Work with the shared services team for continuous improvement in the processing of transactions and meeting deadlines in group reporting obligations and monthly and year end accounts
  • Identify, investigate and analyse potential operational improvement as appropriate, based on findings make proposal for operational changes (policy, procedures, processes etc.)

  • Aggressively anticipate impacts of workload issues to team deadlines, and have a very positive work attitude including willing to work some longer hours during peak periods
  • Strong experience in Profit and loss statement analysis
  • Experience in working with any big ERP systems (SAP, JDE, MS Dynamics etc.)
  • Experience in working with any business intelligence software and reporting tools
  • Advanced excel skills, ability to work with functions, lookup and PIVOT tables
  • Proficiency in Microsoft word, PowerPoint and outlook
  • Strong organisational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English
  • Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participates in new projects
  • Working with people from different cultures and culturally sensitive
  • A career accounting / finance professional with 3 to 5 years in a similar position in a Multinational Organisation
  • A graduate in accounting and CA or CPA or ICWA desirable
