How to Apply

Qualifications:

Faculty members will be placed in the appropriate rank based on their education and experience. The broad criteria are noted below.

For Assistant Professor

_ Education_

• A PhD or Doctorate in Midwifery or in a healthrelated field. Those whose PhD or Doctorate is not in midwifery must hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in midwifery.

_Experience_

• Demonstrated record of academic experience and midwifery practice.
• Experience in teaching midwifery at a postsecondary institution.
• A minimum of five (5) years fulltime equivalent recent clinical practice experience.
• Demonstrated ability to use diverse and current teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences including the laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of educational technology and platforms.
• Demonstrated academic and information literacy skills.

_Scholarship and Research_

• Demonstrated accomplishment in advancement or contributions to healthrelated knowledge through applied research and publication and knowledge dissemination.

For Senior Lecturer and Lecturer

_ Education_

• A Master's in Midwifery or in a healthrelated field. For those whose Master's is not in midwifery, they must hold an undergraduate degree in midwifery.

_Experience_

• Experience in teaching midwifery at a postsecondary institution.
• A minimum of five (5) years fulltime equivalent recent clinical practice experience.
• Demonstrated ability to use diverse and current teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences including the laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of educational technology and platforms.
• Demonstrated academic and information literacy skills.

_Scholarship and Research_

• Demonstrated performance in scholarship that contributes to the advancement of midwifery practice; advancement of healthrelated knowledge; and/or, healthrelated curriculum development and pedagogy.

For Clinical Instructor

_ Education_

_Experience_

• Preference given to those with experience teaching midwifery practice in a postsecondary institution and/or mentoring/precepting midwifery students during practice practicums.
• Demonstrate the ability to use diverse and current teaching approaches for practice; experiences including the laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
• Demonstrate academic and information literacy skills.

_Scholarship and Research_

• Demonstrated aptitude for scholarship that contributes to the advancement of teaching and learning of midwifery practice.
