Position Summary

Duty and Roles

  • Lecturers are expected, in accordance with their contract, to devote 8090% of their working time to teaching and instruction. The remaining 10 or 20% can be allocated to university service after consultation with the academic department head.

The following summarizes the main roles and responsibilities:

  • 1. Teach independently introductory and/or other professional and technical courses.
  • 2. Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical classes.
  • 3. Assess and evaluate student assignments and grade student performance.
  • 4. Serve on departmental or faculty committees dealing with general departmental and administrative concerns, as assigned by the department head.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field is necessary.
  • Evidence of ability in teaching example able to use a range of delivery techniques to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn.
  • Evidence of research productivity in the area of specialization
  • Ability to initiate development in the curriculum and to take responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of teaching programs, developing the curriculum and appropriate assessment techniques.
  • Understanding of equal opportunity issues as they may influence areas of teaching.
  • Evidence of engagement in continuous professional development.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to colleagues and different kinds of students.
  • Ability to perform to required deadlines and to initiate, plan, organize and deliver programs of work.

  • 2. Be an outstanding teacher.

  • Detailed and up-to-date curriculum vitae
  • Cover letter explaining the motivation to join the CSE department
  • Statement of teaching
  • Recommendation letters will be required upon request.
  • A detailed list of courses taught in previous universities (with student evaluation, if possible).
  • Copies of highest earned credentials (Ph.
D. degree, transcripts, HDR, etc.).
