About Your Job:

In this role you will be responsible for leading andmanaging a team of data engineers to design build maintain scalableand secure data products for multiple business divisions withinQatar Airways. You will collaborate closely with crossfunctionalteams across the organization to ensure that the data products areaccessible reliable and secure. You will drive innovation to ensurethat solutions drive value to the business.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Deliver largescale data engineering programs / projects in alignment with theorganizations strategic plans and objectives.
  • Design build and maintain data pipelines data warehousesand data lakes on cloud.
  • Provide technicalleadership and guidance to the data engineering team to designdevelop optimize maintain data products and create a community ofpractice.
  • Collaborate with differentstakeholders like data platform & architecture team dataproduct owners Data Governance team business division heads toprioritize data needs define data strategy and implement governanceprocessess
  • Establish best practices standardsand processes for data engineering operations.
  • Develop and implement a data engineering strategy thataligns with the organizations overall goals.
  • Implement and enforce data quality standards for the dataproducts and maintain data product SLAs.
  • Identify interdependencies between the variousstakeholder groups to ensure all are aligned and risks areidentified mitigated and communicated.

Experience &Knowledge:

  • Bachelors Degree orequivalent (Degree in engineering computer applications commerce orbusiness administration) with minimum 10 years of experience indata engineering with proven expertise in designing andimplementing data pipelines
  • Minimum 4 years ofexperience in a leadership role with the ability to guide motivateand develop a highperforming team
  • Hands onexperience on working with Google Cloud Platform and its suite ofdata analytics services
  • Strong understandingof database technologies (SQL NoSQL etc.) and data warehousingconcepts.
  • Strong knowledge of big datamodelling.
  • Strong understanding of dataarchitecture and design principles.
  • Strongsolution design skills to build scalable resilient and sustainablesolutions to address business requirements
  • Knowledge of data governance compliance machine learningartificial intelligence and data mesh architecture
  • Knowledge of airline domain would be preferred howevernot mandatory
