Primary purpose ofjob
QatarEnergy is looking for an experiencedData Engineer in the Trading Solutions teamto:

  • Design develop maintain andsupport the Data Lake ETL using the Azure Data Factory and play akey role in developing
a scalable anddatadriven LNG Trading business.
  • Build bespokedata collection tools and connections to a variety of sources (e.g.databases API FTP HTML web
scraping) andimplement data pipelines using SQL Python and Azure. Leadconstruction of visualization reporting and

modellingtools (bespoke web applications Power BI Tableau) and providetechnical expertise to the wider team in this

area.

  • Identify design and implementinternal process improvements automating manual processesoptimizing data delivery on
Azure.
  • Take primary responsibility for driving dataquality and integrity standards across the LNG trading organizationdriving
processes standards and raisinggeneral awareness of the importance of worldclass data qualitythroughout the business.
  • Provide timely expertand technical support on Trading analytics systems. Contribute asrequired to IT projectsto

implementnew or transform existing Tradingsolutions.

  • Partner with architectsanalysts and technology stakeholders for developing and deployingenterprise grade platforms
that enabledatadriven solutions.
  • Document and shareknowledge & practices related to Trading analyticssystems.
  • Apply security measures by followingsecurity procedures and standards to ensure secure environment.Manage and
address Trading systemsvulnerabilities and threats.

Experience& Skills
Minimum of 5 years ofpractical experience with Azure services such as Azure Data LakeData Factory Databricks SQL
Database Synapse DevOpsPipeline etc within the financialindustry.

  • Good experience with SQLServer and proficient in writingSQL.
  • Experience with a range of Azure servicesincluding Infrastructure and Security related services such asAzure AD IaaS
Containers Storage Networkingand Azure Security.
  • Experience in building datafeeds (from scratch) and the implementation of visualization andreporting tools and models
ideally within atrading environment
  • Experience in Python C# andVBA is considered a strong plus.
  • Clearunderstanding of software development & version controlbest practices. Ability to implement solutions usingAgile
methods including prototyping andtactical solutions to meet the shortterm and dynamic needs of thebusiness
  • Knowledge and experience dealing withtrading / financial data types & sources. An understandingof the global Gas and
LNG markets as well asrelated Trading business is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicationskills and stakeholder management skills at a variety oforganizational levels.
  • Ability to own projectsfrom end to end working with business stakeholders IT teams and 3rdparty companies to ensure
timely and qualityproject delivery.
  • Selfreliance andselfsufficiency; willingness to help build a business from theground upwards in a phased manner but
withquick shortterm solutions essential for success.
  • Strong delivery focus iscritical.

Education
Bachelors degree in acomputing/mathematics/engineering/data sciencefield
