Position Summary:


The Multi-Skilled AC Technician in a hospital setting is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of air conditioning and HVAC systems to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

This role requires expertise in multiple aspects of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

HVAC Systems Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance on various HVAC systems, including air handlers, chillers, rooftop units, and split systems.
  • Conduct inspections to identify and address potential issues before they impact the hospital's operations.

Troubleshooting and Repairs:

  • Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment faults in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and engineering teams to resolve complex HVAC problems.

Installation and Upgrades:

  • Assist in the installation, replacement, and upgrade of HVAC units and systems as directed by senior technicians.
  • Ensure installations comply with HVAC codes and specifications.

Refrigerant Handling:

  • Handle, recover, and recycle refrigerants according to environmental regulations.
  • Monitor refrigerant levels and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Energy Management:

  • Implement energyefficient practices and contribute to the optimization of HVAC system performance.
  • Propose and assist in the implementation of energysaving initiatives.

Emergency Response:

  • Respond promptly to HVAC emergencies, system failures, and other urgent situations.
  • Work closely with the emergency response team to restore HVAC services affecting patient care and critical operations.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to HVAC safety regulations and hospital policies.
  • Conduct safety inspections and participate in safety training programs.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of HVAC maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Generate reports on the performance and reliability of HVAC systems for supervisory review.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, to address crossfunctional issues and ensure coordinated facility management.

Training and Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on advancements in HVAC technologies and industry best practices.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • ITI or trade certification in HVAC/ Mechanical.
  • Proven experience as a multiskilled AC technician, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
  • Knowledge of HVAC codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability for oncall duty and response to emergencies.
