The school serves the Dukhan township, comprising a diverse community of more than 40 nationalities.

Our new purpose-built campus spans 27 acres with state-of-the-art learning environments including an 800-seat auditorium, an assembly hall for 1500 people, 3 sports halls, state of the art Science labs, peripatetic music rooms and an all-weather pitch.

We are seeking a History of Qatar / Islamic Studies professional who will:

  • Be a reflective practitioner, committed to continued professional growth and development.
  • Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development of the curriculum and meet the needs of all learners across the school.
  • Provide classroom experiences centred around challenge and enjoyment for all students.
  • Have knowledge and experience of using innovative pedagogical approaches within the classroom, including the use of technology.
  • Be skilled in the use of both formative and summative assessment approaches.
  • Provide critical analysis of the progress, intervention and achievement for all children.
We are seeking an inspirational teacher with at least 4 years' experience and a passion for History of Qatar / Islamic Studies who:


  • Demonstrates effective knowledge and experience of teaching History of Qatar, Islamic Studies and Arabic language for native students across KS1 to KS5

Has engaged with current pedagogy and understands Qatar History / Islamic Studies curriculums

Understands how to sequence, resource, adapt and refine areas of the curriculum to meet the needs of all learners

Is a native level Arabic speaker.

Dukhan English School (DES) is one of the oldest international schools in the Middle East tracing its origins back to the early 1950s.

DES provides education for the children of QatarEnergy employees who live in Dukhan.
