Opening in 2023, Rixos Qetaifan Island North will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark.

The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country's biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North's Waterpark attraction. The Icon Tower is the world's highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres.

Maintenance Manager

  • Must be able to tolerate vibration of hand tools
  • Must be able to tolerate inclement, cold, and very warm environmental temperatures
  • Must be able to withstand 30 M.P.H. winds while working in air ducts
  • Must handle chlorine, acids, and caustics (protective gear is provided)
  • Must have excellent balance for ladder climbing, standing on round structures such as the boiler (when adjusting overhead valves)
  • Must be able to tolerate noisy machinery, air compressors, motors, very frequently

What you will be doing:

  • The ability to hire, train, supervise, schedule, discipline and plan the activities of maintenance department personnel.
  • The ability to complete, hold and follow up on employee performance reviews on a timely basis.
  • The ability to ensure that effective preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
  • The ability to plan and implement procedures, systems and controls to ensure an efficient maintenance department.
  • The ability to establish department operating budget for submission to management covering costs of heat, light and power and maintenance and repairs.
  • The ability to communicate maintenance information and problems to the Front Office manager, Executive Housekeeper and General Manager on a daily basis.
  • The ability to prepare an annual, itemized, special project budget to management, including all changes and replacements of mechanical equipment required by all departments.
  • The ability to develop and update comprehensive departmental polices and manuals.
  • The ability to establish good working relationships with contractors who will furnish reliable 24hour emergency service.
  • The ability to compile a monthly consumption report on heat, light and power to include electricity, gas, steam and water.
  • The ability to ensure all personnel under the jurisdiction of the Chief Engineer is exposed to hotel internal and external training on an ongoing basis.
  • The ability to ensure effective communication and good relations between the Engineering department and other departments in the hotel.
  • The ability to prepare and follow through on any projects as outlined by senior management.
  • The ability to ensure all public areas are patrolled daily and all lighting is in good order.
  • The ability to ensure all maintenance personnel are in uniform and well groomed.
  • The ability to ensure timely completion of all assigned responsibilities.
  • The ability to develop and maintain an energy conservation program allowing the hotel to meet its annual budget targets.
  • The ability to prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise efficiently with the Purchasing Manager on such matters.
  • The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Rixos Hotels and encourage staff to do the same.
  • The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed.
  • The ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized work area.
  • The ability to attend and participate in all required meetings.
  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.

Your experience and skills include:

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English
  • Four years university graduate or equivalent desirable.
  • Knowledge of blue prints, wiring diagrams and HVAC systems
