Tofill this role effectively the successful candidate will need tohave a diverse range of qualities competencies and experience. TheArabic teacher should be an adaptable and inspiring educator withthe ability to deliver a coherent integrated broad inquirybasedprogramme. They should be a motivated teacher and lifelong learnerwho can communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders. Theyshould possess excellent interpersonal skills and be capable ofpreparing students for international programmes by teaching thelanguage in a stimulating immersive and communicative manner. Theyshould be able to provide professional expertise highqualityteaching and learning make effective use of resources and ensureimproved standards of learning and achievement for allstudents.
Requirements
1.Qualifications and Experience. The school prefers candidateswith:
1.1A bachelor s degree in teaching Arabic as a foreign languagesecond/foreign language teaching or a relatedfield
1.2Experience in teaching Arabic language to nonnative speakers in aninternational setting
2.Knowledge and Skills. Theyshould:
2.1Be aligned with the ISL values of diversity passion identity andunderstanding.
2.2Possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt tothe demands of an international school. They should be able tocommunicate effectively in Arabic andEnglish
2.3Have a high level of understanding of current research on howchildren learn and possess the ability to motivate students toperform at their best.
2.4Through differentiated instruction and by using a variety of stylesbe able to inspire mixedculture and ability classes by creatingchallenging and engaging learning opportunities for allstudents.
2.5Have a high level of awareness of current developments in Arabiclanguage and be able to participate fully in an expanding IB schooland in particular help to develop the team spirit within theArabic/MultilingualismDepartment
3.Responsibilities:
3.1Implement the Multilingualism policy and strategicplans
3.2Liaise with the MYP team and the curriculum leaders to ensureeffective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes includingselecting resources and managing them efficiently in theclassroom.
3.3Participate in the design development implementation and review ofthe language acquisitionprogrammes.
3.4Promote the health and safety of assignedclasses.
3.5Participate in professional development and contribute to regularstaff training/meetings.
3.6Encourage team spirit in the Multilingualism department and developconnections with colleagues across theschool.
3.7Contribute to community service and global citizenshipgoals.
3.8Contribute to the extracurricular activities programme of theschool.
3.9Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between theMultilingualism Department and the wider community throughcooperative relations publications competitionsetc.
3.10Enhance the professional standing of thefaculty.
3.11Participate in teacherled initiatives and activities aimed atpromoting Multilingualism atISLQatar
